At a concert in Manchester on December 15th, Paul McCartney became emotional after playing "Now and Then," known as "the last Beatles ," which was released in 2023.
McCartney played it for the first time in Montevideo , at the first show of the final leg of the Got Back Tour , in early October.
Speaking to The Mirror , Paul said the song makes him “very emotional” and that he “loves playing it and the audience seems to love it too.” ( via NME ).

In the same interview, the bassist commented on "Now and Then," which was started by John Lennon in 1977 but was only released in November 2023 , using Artificial Intelligence to separate Lennon's vocals so that Paul and Ringo Starr could record their parts and combine them with the guitars previously recorded by George Harrison in 1995 during studio sessions.
“It’s truly amazing to perform it live. When you sing a new song, even if it’s an old song like ‘Now and Then,’ people’s first reaction is usually not being quite sure what you’re doing.”
“But, during the series of shows, they start to understand. The news spreads across the internet, you know? So, now the reaction is really strong and for us it’s great to play because it’s a very good song to play, and for me it’s especially exciting because it’s a John song. It really moves me. I love it. I love playing it and the audience seems to love it too.”
